Gary Queen
Gary "GQ" Queen has been playing
guitar and making music most of his life. His early beginnings were in rock and blues outfits of the late '60's
and early '70's in his home-town and birthplace of rock-n-roll, Cleveland, Ohio. His interest in jazz, classical
and ethnic music began to emerge in 1972. At this point he began intensively studying both formally and through
association with local jazz masters. He studied classical guitar at the Cleveland Institute of Music and also attended
Berklee College of Music. In 1974 he became involved in the theater circuit and performed with international headliners
and Broadway productions. He toured with the International Co. of "A Chorus Line" from 1979 until 1983.
At the conclusion of the tour he settled in Las Vegas. He was in the Hilton Orchestra '87-'89, an original cast
member of Masquerade Village Show In The Sky at the Rio, led a Dixieland trio at Commander's Palace 2000-2006,done
thousands of "casuals" and jazz gigs,solo guitar, weddings and conventions. He has also been an adjunct
faculty member at College of Southern Nevada since 1988.
